Insurance requirements

CAP 722 legislates that all non-recreational flights require a minimum of Third Party Insurance cover iaw (EC)785/2004. Insurance companies may not offer such cover unless you have first received appropriate training from an RAE such as 3iC.

This cover is also required before any Practical Flight Assessment (PFA) takes place.

There are a number of drone specific insurance companies you can use. One of the Insurance companies is Coverdrone, however, you must carry out your own research before choosing the insurance company that is right for you”
